Instead of having to choose a class, all the game's skills are open to you, although some require prerequisite skills along the same path. You only get four or five special skill slots, as well as three hotkeys for basic attacks. There's not a lot you can do to mitigate the damage you take (again, might be because it's early in the game). I've had to make a lot of corpse runs, sometimes over and over if I died to a particularly tough enemy. I do a lot of running away and run-and-shoot with my bow. It's harder to stay alive in a fight, although this might be an early-game thing (I'm not far into it yet). The pace of the game is a lot slower than Diablo, in that there's a lot of resting in between one group of monsters and the next. ![]() (If that Magic vs Tech thing makes you think of Arcanum, you're not alone. ![]() ![]() The titular city of Silverfall is destroyed in the prologue of the game, leaving the player responsible for keeping the surviving citizens alive in the wilderness. Silverfall's basic premise is that the conflict between Nature and Technology as social forces is interfering with the world's magic, and starting to create aberrant creatures and distort the environment.
